The Spark

In 2017, Michael King survived 2 massively destructive category 5 hurricanes. Hurricane Irma in Sint Maarten was devastating and completely leveled the entire island. Just like thousands of others, he lost his business and home in just a blink of an eye.

After 8 days of sleeping on a beach chair on the back deck of a local restaurant, he was evacuated to the closest US territory, that was not ravaged by Irma, which happened to be Puerto Rico.

The Flame

After 6 days of relief, Maria came onto the shores of Puerto Rico and completely ravaged that Island as well. With communications lost, the electrical grid demolished, and just complete utter chaos, Michael took to the streets to help families in need during the entire 4 months that he was stuck on the island.

With that, he wholeheartedly embraced a new career in Solar Photovoltaics.

After 2 years in the industry learning the ins and out of the business, he quickly realized that many things could and should be better.

Our Birth

With that, Michael birthed Enlighten Solar in 2020, right at the beginning of the pandemic.

Since then, Enlighten Solar has been growing strong and has partnered with the Top Tier solar installation companies in the country, to offer homeowners the best products, services, and rates across the board.

We are proud to say that we are now fully operational in 31 states thanks to our direct below market value pricing, our standard 30-year warranties, and coupled with a staff of caring, passionate, and like-minded Solar Warriors.
